MiLKlabs is a collaborative community space based in Limerick City, Ireland. Our name is derived from ‘Made In LimericK’. It’s a shared physical space for any and all creative projects: art, woodwork, software, photography and electronics – to name but a few. Our aim is to provide Limerick with a place for people to work and collaborate on creative projects, to learn and to share their knowledge. We welcome all skill levels and all creative ideas.

We are funded by membership fees, fundraising, workshops, events and donations. We are a part of a loosely-knit international movement known as Hackerspaces (better known as Makerspaces or Creative Spaces, since the word ‘hacker’ has been corrupted). While many hackerspaces focus mainly on technology-based projects, we aim to be more diverse and to incorporate the thriving arts community in Limerick, Ireland currently has four active makerspaces: MiLKlabs in Limerick, 091 Labs in Galway, TOG in Dublin, and Cork hackerspace.

We are currently on the look-out for a physical space to call home but have regular meetings in the Absolute Hotel and workshops in UL. We invite anyone who likes to create, build things and explore the possibilities of the world around them to come join us. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7pm in the Absolute Hotel.

[This page has been shamelessly cloned from to whom we are extremely grateful for all the help they have given. We are likewise indebted to TOG.]
