Finish Weekend 12-13 November

Clear your calender for next weekend and get something done!

MiLKlabs will be hosting a “Finish Weekend” this November 12th – 13th. Drop in whenever you feel like it or spend the full two days finishing “that” project.

It can be anything that needs to be finished, some ideas:

  • A scarf
  • An essay
  • A robot
  • A song
  • A prototype
  • A website
  • An annoying software bug
  • A blog post

When and Where
It will be running from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday, but there may be people there outside of those hours. (Is anyone adventurous/determined enough to bring a sleeping bag and do an all-nighter?)

It will be hosted at our miLKLabs space at the Franciscan Friary, Lower Henry Street, Limerick

As always, curious members of the public are free to call in and look around. And for a small donation (maybe €5) you can use the space/energy/knowledge/skills to finish a project of your own.

Coworking spaces – lots in common

Coworking is “a style of work which involves a shared working environment, sometimes an office, yet independent activity. Unlike in a typical office environment, those coworking are usually not employed by the same organization. Typically it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, or people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation. Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.”

Obviously a creative space like MiLKlabs has a lot in common with a coworking environment and in a sense is a pre-coworking space. The video below for New Work City in the Big Apple highlights the similarities, and the benefits of people with diverse talents sharing a creative space -
